Waiting for God's perfect match
Updated: May 20, 2019
Proverbs 13:12 states, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life." Josh and I have experienced this heart sickness for so long, but we are already beginning to see God bring redemption to our story and hope is on the rise. It's like we can taste this baby and there is expectancy in our hearts like there has never been before. On Easter Sunday we experienced a new depth of hope as we saw God provide the financial resources allowing us to take the next step with our adoption. We are continuing our fundraising, but we are no longer held back from choosing our child! This means that we are reviewing several potential adoption cases each week and we can say "yes". Then comes the next phase of waiting to see if birth mother/parents choose us as well, which would mean a match. Please continue to pray for us as this is a very difficult and emotional process. The cases we review are real people in very difficult, broken circumstances; real hearts are at stake and a helpless child behind each profile. I have a good friend, who has also adopted, describe adoption as a "broken hallelujah". Adoption happens because of brokenness. We tangibly feel God is calling us to be vessels of redemption to this child and we pray also to be a blessing to birth mom/parents in the process. Thank you to all who have entered into our journey thus far...we are beyond grateful to be in this new place of waiting to match! We couldn't be here without your help along the way!
